Keeping in track with the National Sports Day on October 10th, the Inaugural Short Course Swimming Competition was hosted by ASUM on 10th and 11th October at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil. DSA Swim Team sent its largest contingent to date with 117 swimmers participating in the two day event. With many a first-timer joining in, the home group gave the swimmers a good boost of confidence, resulting in an overall great performance from all the swimmers.
Notable performers included Darren Lew Chen Jet with 4 Gold, Lim Shun Qi with 3 Gold and Sean Goh Min Chang with 2 Gold in the many events. Other Gold winners included Koh Teck Chen, Yumi Okuzono, Lim Zi Win and Grace Gan Qian Huei. There was also a good number of Silver medalists bringing up the total tally of 13 Gold, 19 Silver and 12 Bronze for the two days of competition. A great performance by the team and an enriching experience for the first-timers; the swimmers now have to prepare for the last event of the year coming up next month, The President Cup 2015.
