6 Meet Records and over 70 medals at Splash Meets

The MAS / NSC / MILO Splash Swim Series is designed to nurture and sustain Malaysia’s second and third tiers of swimming talent, offering young athletes’ meaningful opportunities to compete beyond the grassroots level. Structured to encourage growth and progression, the series will feature two legs of competition, held simultaneously across three regions: Central, Northern, and East Malaysia. The Northern Region encompasses Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Terengganu, Kelantan, and Pahang; the Central Region covers Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Johor; while East Malaysia will include Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.

Participation in the Splash Swim Series is open to both local and international swimmers who are registered with clubs or schools in Malaysia and affiliated with their respective State associations or MAS. Athletes from Sekolah Sukan Malaysia are also eligible. To qualify, swimmers must meet the official Time Standards for each event, with their personal best records falling within the specified minimum and maximum times for entry. This ensures fair competition while creating pathways for promising talent to rise through the ranks.

The second Leg of the Swim Series for 2025 for the Central Region was held on 12-14 September at Pusat Aquatik MBJB Arena Larkin, Johor. A total of 84 swimmers from DSA, DSAS and DSAJ Swimming Clubs participated in the Meet. The 3-day Meet concluded with DSA Swimming Clubs winning 15 Golds with 1 new Meet Record and a total of 37 medals.

Among the big winners at the Meet was young Kyle Chan Kai Jie in the Boys 9 years and under group winning a total of 7 medals which included 5 Golds in a superb performance. Mohamad Akash Rifqi in the Boys 14-15 years age group created a new Meet Record in the 200 Meter Freestyle and took home 4 Golds for his amazing prowess in the pool.

Low Kenji, Alex Shulzhenko and Lee Xin Tung were the other DSA swimmers at the Meet taking home a Gold each. Swimmers who made the podium finish at the Meet included Chan Zhi Ern, Zhu YinLai, Aiden Zarief, Yam Ee Ren, Yui Hirano, Nouril Ammiesya Binti Mohd Khairul Nizam, Aryan Caleb Nair, Tan Yi Wen, Khaeyr Adrian, Chong Jia Ying and Muhammad Araiz Hakeem bin Mohd Huzaidi.

 

The second Leg of the Swim Series for 2025 for the Northern Region was held on 13-14 September at Pusat Aquatik Tuanku Zara, Perak Darul Ridzuan. 24 Swimmers from DSA Swimming Clubs participated in the Meet ending with a total win of 35 medals which included 18 Golds and a staggering 5 Meet Records.

The star of the Meet for DSA was Lee Ruo Faye in the Girls 16-18 yrs category who rocked the pool with an amazing 6 Golds and topped of with 2 Meet Records in the 50 and 100 Metres Backstroke events. Gareth Goh in the Boys 14-15 years age group added a Meet Record in the 50 Meter Freestyle and 6 medals to the team tally which included 4 Golds. Ngin Jia Yik and Garrel Lee Xuan were the other Record makers in their events while Gabriel Lee Jin added 4 Golds to the team in his events. Hoo Jean Yee added her Gold also bringing the total number of Golds in the Meet to 18 Golds.
