The East Meets West Invitational Swim Meet 2025 (EMW) was held at the National Aquatic Centre, KL Sports City, Bukit Jalil on 18-20 October. The main aim of this Swim Meet 2025 is to be a connecting point in uniting the swimming clubs in Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia in the spirit of ‘One Malaysia’ and to uncover new talents among the youth and students at the grassroot level. The Meet also provides an opportunity for encouraging interaction between races through the participation of athletes from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities while creating a spirit of sportsmanship beyond cultural and religious boundaries.
The Meet saw the participation of over 580 swimmers from swimming clubs all over Malaysia. DSA Swimming Clubs had a total of 153 swimmers in both State and Novice categories giving their best at the 3 days of intense action in the pool. The Clubs won a total of 116 medals which included 24 Golds in the State Swimmers category and 20 Golds in the Novice Swimmers category.
The big winners in the Novice category included (Grace) Li Wanyu from Group 4 who won a smashing 5 Golds and a Silver while Olyvia Magdalene Foley from Group 2 won 4 Golds. Adding to this were Aleeya Rose Norazri from Group 5 winning 2 Golds while Gu Jia Yo and Alex Shulzhenko took home a Gold each from their events.
Other great performers who had a podium finish with Silver and Bronze medals included Jayden Chan Tian Jun, Dominic Stan Lee Chung Han, Odelia Choo Ern Yi, Megan Toh Wey En, Kylie Lean, Adam Shah Shaharuddin Hamid, Dexter Kam Yuan Zi, Li Junzhi, Sarah Kwong Xin, Tan Wei Ni, Yap Yuan Chen, Danielle Rae Chiew Wern Ee, Nik Nameera Nadine Nik Mohd Farid, Shanie Yeok Lin,Yam Ee Ren, Chan Zhi Ern and Daon Kim. Notable performance also included Krsna Vyaasana Saravanan and Ved Ashishbhai Panchal in the 19-24 yrs Open category.
Stars in the State Swimmers category included Jerriel Lau who mastered the pool with an amazing 6 Gold haul while Henri James Johan Keeton and Zhang He Ning added 4 Golds each to the team tally. Natalie Rae Chiew Zhen Ee won a glorious triple Golds for her events while Braydon Ang added 2 Golds and Yui Hirano, one more to bring the total Golds count to 44 for the Club. Other podium finishers among the State Swimmers included Tan Ju Ni, Aiden Zarief and Harrison Cannon. The Relays also saw some exemplary team work by the swimmers as DSA Clubs raked in 12 Golds and as many Silvers and Bronzes across the Groups.
