514 Swimmers take to the pool for DSA Anniversary Swim Carnival 2026
The National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil came alive with colour, energy, and the unmistakable excitement of competitive swimming, as D Swim Academy marked a proud milestone with the DSA 15th Anniversary Swim Carnival 2026. Fifteen years in the making, this special edition of the club’s flagship carnival was more than just a swim meet — it was a celebration of community, growth, and everything that DSA stands for.
A remarkable 514 swimmers from 10 teams took part in the carnival, making it one of the largest and most vibrant gatherings in the club’s history. Participants ranged from the very youngest age categories — children as young as 6 years old — all the way through to 17-year-olds, spanning DSA’s Blue Levels, Mini Squad, Squad Group D, and invited external teams. The sheer breadth of participation was a testament to the strength of DSA’s junior and grassroots development pathway.
The programme featured a rich variety of events across all four competitive strokes. Younger and newer swimmers competed in 25m short course format in Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle and the Kick Event under the Blue Levels and Novice categories, while the more experienced Mini Squad and Group D swimmers, alongside invited teams, took on the 50m distances for the regular events. With over 1,600 individual entries across the programme, the pool was buzzing from the 8:00AM start right through to the final event of the afternoon.
Beyond the competition itself, the carnival was designed as a full-day celebration — featuring game booths, giveaways, retail stalls, and food stalls that brought joy to swimmers and families alike. Every swimmer received a Certificate of Participation, with medals presented to the top three finishers in each event category. It was a day that captured everything DSA does best: nurturing talent at every level, bringing families together, and celebrating fifteen wonderful years of swimming with heart. Here’s to the next fifteen!
