5 Meet Records and 81 Medals won at the 4th PISC 2026
From 12th to 14th June 2026, the Relau Sports Complex in Penang became the stage for one of the most memorable performances in recent DSA Swimming Club history. At the 4th Penang Invitational Swimming Championships 2026, an outstanding contingent of 39 DSA swimmers from DSA Penang took to the pool and returned home with a remarkable haul of 81 medals which included 31 Golds. To crown an already stellar outing, the team shattered 5 Meet Records, cementing the club’s reputation as a powerhouse of competitive swimming.
The Group 1 swimmers set the tone with a series of breathtaking displays. Ronan Cheong Hao Jin was nothing short of extraordinary, storming to a Meet Record in the Boys 100m Breaststroke to claim Gold. Lee Ruo Faye was simply unstoppable in the pool, claiming a superb 2 Golds and setting a staggering 2 Meet Records in the Girls Backstroke events. Hoo Jean Yee delivered a breathtaking 2 Golds in the Girls Butterfly events, rounding off a complete performance.
Aryan Jayden Brattinga stormed to Gold in the Boys 50m Butterfly and played a pivotal role in all three relay victories. Other podium finishes from this group came from Lew Jia Ming, earning podium finishes to further add to the Club’s tally.
In Group 2, Goh Hao Wei put in a gutsy and determined performance across three events, earning Silver and Bronze in his events. Three podium finishes in a single meet is a testament to his relentless drive and versatility.
The Group 3 contingent produced one of the highlights of the entire championships. Boaz Tan Dan was simply electrifying, blazing to a Meet Record in the Boys 50m Freestyle event. Other podium finishes in this group came from Jang YeRim while Group 4 showed the depth of DSA’s young, growing talent with a good medal haul.
Lim Eu Ning was the undisputed star of this group, claiming a brilliant 2 Golds — including a Meet Record in the Girls Breaststroke event. Tan Cher Rell matched that energy with 1 Gold in the Girls 100m Freestyle event. Jang Yu Yeong was outstanding in the boys’ events, taking Gold in the Boys 200m IM. Other podium finishes from Group 4 came from Ngin Jia Yik and Hashini Nahganathan, all contributing to the team total with their podium standings.
Among the Relay events the Group 1 quartet of Lew Jia Ming, Ronan Cheong Hao Jin, Aryan Jayden Brattinga, and Danish Haziq Mohd Hairul Nizam swept Gold in the Boys 200m Freestyle Relay, Medley, and Mixed Medley events making a clean sweep of the Relay events for the Group. In Group 3 Relays, Boaz Tan Dan, Drexter Tan, Jang YeRim, and Chin Xin Le fought splendidly to Gold finish for the team while the young Group 4 team of Tan Cher Rell, Ngin Jia Yik, Lim Eu Ning and Jang Yu Yeong added a Gold for the Medley Relay. The Relay quartets victory showed the beautifully coordinated team effort with additional podium finishes for the Club.
The 4th Penang Invitational Swimming Championships 2026 will be remembered as a defining moment for the DSA Swimming Club Penang as the continue to grow in size and achievements. 81 medals, 5 Meet Records by39 swimmers who gave everything to represent their club with pride is the kind of collective achievement that speaks to the strength of the team spirit, the dedication of every athlete, and the unwavering support of coaches, parents, and the entire DSA community.
