Young swimmers win 21 Golds at Novice Meet

The 15th Novice Swim Meet, the fourth event of the 2025 season, was held on November 29–30 at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil. These Novice Meets are designed to introduce beginner swimmers to the world of competitive swimming, helping them gain experience, build confidence, and prepare for more advanced competitions. Swimmers qualify as “novice” if they have never represented their state at the national level or secured individual medals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets.

DSA Swimming Club proudly fielded a strong team of 144 young swimmers, many of whom were experiencing competitive swimming for the first time. For these budding athletes, the meet offered invaluable exposure to the structured schedules, discipline, and environment of inter-club competitions.

After two days of spirited competition, the team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 80 medals, which included 21 Golds.

Among the standout performers was Kaiser Chen Hao Ren in the Boys 9 year olds category who blazed through events with an astounding 5 Golds, while Amelda Wong Zi Qian, Caitlyn Ling Zhao, (Mike) Guo Jiayi and Megan Toh Wey En won 2 Golds each in their respective categories. Also bringing home a Gold each for the team were Nik Nameera Nadine Nik Moh, Muhammad Adam Zharif bin Shahizan, Jacob Soon Zheng Yang, Sarah Kwong Xin, Prateik Gupta, Arjun Menon, Moses Sim Zhi Yang and Koh Tzi Kai.

Other DSA swimmers who made it to a podium finish included Ariana Tay Yu Qiao, Yuan Zhijie, Daon Kim, Chan Zhi Ern, Juwon Ko, Sven Yeok Hao Jie, Gu JiaYi, Aaron Daniel Ahmad Faizal, Kaylee Leong Zhi Ching, Shawn Boey Wei Xiang, Osgardarius Rj. Pua Yong Lin, Zhang You Wei, Cadence Liew Yi Hern, Ng Zhang Puo, Lee Chen Ze, Hannah Kwong Rou, Kody Lee Kher-Di and Lee Qi Ren.
