DSAS finish as First Runner Up at Short Course Meet in Shah Alam
18 Swimming Clubs and over 520 swimmers converged to Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on 4th to 6th July for the 12th Selangor Short Course Sprint Invitational Swimming Championships 2025, one of the prime and much awaited Swim Meet in the state of Selangor. DSA Swimming Clubs participated in the Meet with a total of 114 swimmers.
After the hectic competition, DSAS Swimming Club finished as First Runner Up. DSA won a total of 50 medals in the Novice swimmers category which included 12 Golds. 125 medals was the total in the State swimmers category which included a whopping 44 Golds bringing a huge 175 medals in total for DSA Swimming Clubs for this Meet.
In the Novice Swimmers category, Mohamed Eldamanhoury in Group 1 won a massive 6 Golds in his events with his exemplary performance while Isaac Chen Yen-Bo from the same Group added one more Gold to the team tally. Olyvia Magdalene Foley finished as the Second Runner Up for Group 2 with a Gold, 5 Silvers and a Bronze while Chong Jia Ying in the same group added a Gold.
Olivia Lee Yu Xuan from Group 3 was the First Runner Up for Group 3 with a Gold, 5 Silvers and a Bronze to take home while Mia Lim Jia Yen won 2 Golds in her events for Group 3. Ethan Cheng Yu Feng, also from Group 3 finished as Second Runner Up for the Meet.
Other swimmers in the Novice Swimmers category who had podium finishes included Koray Leong Kanbur, Ethan Eng Yeung Zjung, Marvyn Teoh Min Wei, Nigel Lee Tzi Yue, Kristen Leong, Margad Badamsed, Oliver Chan Kai Sheng, Mia Larissa Mohamad, Melor Putri Khayla Putra Safa, Pei Jiayi and Kaira Reyes Lau.
In the State Swimmers category Liew Yu Shan emerged as the Overall Champion in Girls Group 2. Anabelle Kong Shu Li was First Runner Up while Shannon Tan Yan Qing finished as Second Runner Up for the same group.
Itto Horiuchi and Lee Xin Tung were the First Runners Up in Group 3 Boys and Girls categories while Aylah Wang finished as Second Runner Up in Group 3 Girls and Wah Hao Ran was Second Runner Up in Group 3 Boys.
Noma Horiuchi was the Overall Champion in the Girls Group 4 amassing an impressive 8 Golds while Owen Chan Kai Wen won the Overall Champion in the Boys Group 4. Anna Maglai and Cayden How Xuan Hee took the First Runners Up positions for the Girls and Boys categories while Alysha Aryana Mohd Khairul finished as Second Runner Up for Girls in the Group.
Kayler Ngan Kang Yi with 2 Golds and Yap Zhen Yi, Yap Ke Hui , Yap Inn Xuan, Max Lim Jia Jun, Jayden Lim and Keira Lee Shwen with a Gold each were the other Gold winners in their respective groups. Other podium finishers for DSA in the Meet included Cham Yu Xiang, Julian Lee, Aydan Chew Hwe Zhe, Muhamad Akash Rifqi, Clifford Yeap Shun Long, Raeka Ong, Alynna Yong Zhang Ya, Henri James Johan Keeton and Anand Badamsed.
DSA swimmers really dazzled in the pool for the Relay events with no less than 5 Meet Records being established at the Meet. They included the Group 2 Girls 4×25 Freestyle and Mixed 4×50 Medley Relays and the Group 4 Girls 4×25 Freestyle and two teams in the 4×25 Medley Relays. There was a total of 2 Golds from Group 1, 3 Golds from Group 2, 6 Golds from Group 3 and 2 Golds from Group 4 Relay teams in addition to the record-breaking performances. The swimmers from both the DSA Swimming Clubs really have a great achievement to look back on after their immense medal tally and grand success.
