DSA Swimming Club register Top Honours at SportExcel Meet
The SPORTEXCEL / MILO / NSC / MAS Junior Swimming Circuit, 1st Leg 2023 was held at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan on 13-14 May 2023 with more than 30 swimming clubs from around the country making their mark in competitive swimming. Amidst the weekend of intense competition, finally it was the young DSA Swimmers with a staggering total of over 1950 points who won the Overall Championship. The girls in the team contributed almost twice as many points than the boys which is truly remarkable.
Leading the score was young Megan Ho who added her name to the record books with a new Meet record in the 50 Meter Butterfly event in the Girls 11-12 years category. She also added 5 Golds and a Silver to the team medal tally. Olivia Seow Cui Ying with 2 Golds and Kaylee Koh Lee Shen with 1 Gold were the other big winners among the girls, while Evita Tan Ee Lin, Yap Inn Xuan and Kaylee Wong were the other girls with podium finishes. Among the boys, Ho Zhi Ju brought home 4 Golds and a Bronze while Neelkantha Arjoo Segar won a Gold and 2 Silvers and Bronzes and Liew Ze Hou won a Bronze to add to the team total. Besides the medal winners there was a large number of swimmers who finished with the first 24, thereby adding to grand total which was well above and beyond the remaining teams. Being the first leg of the swimming circuit, the swimmers will need to keep up the same momentum and spirits as they prepare for the second leg scheduled for early July in Perak. All credit to the swimmers and parents for their dedication to the training and also to the DSA coaches who have been putting the young swimmers through their paces and bringing out the best in them.
