Educative and Inspiring day with the SASI Team
DSA Swimmers had the special privilege of having some of the best international swimming talent to both train and guide them in competitive swimming. South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) identifies, develops and supports athletes with the potential to perform at the highest national and international levels of sport. The SASI team of Coaches Peter Bishop, Craig Stewart, Tim Rawlins (Performance Analyst) and Luke Knappstein (Strength and Conditioning) were in Malaysia with their athletes as part of their training to prepare them for Tokyo Olympics.
DSA had 32 young swimmers who attended the Swim Clinic and had the privilege of exploring the personalized and improved diving techniques using the technology of video viewing and analysis by Coaches Tim and Craig.
Besides this, Coach Luke was running a series dryland workout to different levels of swimmers to enhance their performance in water. Coach Peter meanwhile was running the stroke and technique work to help swimmers to swim more efficiently and faster.
2016 Olympic Gold Medalist Kyle Chalmers, 2016 Olympian and World Championship Medalist Madison Wilson, and the team of swimmers shared their inspiring experiences as competitive swimmers. All swimmers have their ups and downs regardless what levels of success they have reached, and these world class swimmers shared their stories about how they bounced back and achieved their goals. The SASI swimmers enthralled their young audience demonstrating their finesse and helped in aligning DSA swimmers’ techniques for better performances.
The young DSA swimmers received invaluable advice and feedbacks to their questions from the Olympic level swimmers and no doubt that the swimmers were very high spirited and motivated after participating in the Swim Clinic.
