DSA swimmers emerge Champions at Bukit Jalil


13 Meet Records and 97 Golds at AKL Age Group Meet

The first Swim Meet of the year, the AKL Age Group Swimming Championships 2025 was held on 15-18 January at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil. The Meet was also the qualifying Meet to the Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships 2025 (MIAG) and the Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2025.

With over 750 swimmers FROM 19 Swimming clubs participating, the Meet was hectic with 4 days of explosive action. In the end, DSA Swimming Club with a team of 216 swimmers finished as the Champions of the Meet taking the top spot among the participating Clubs. The Swimming Club created 13 Meet Records and amassed 237 medals which included 97 Golds.

The swimmers who thrilled with the exceptional performances included Jerriel Lau and Adam Jeffrey Dillon who created 2 Meet Records each in the events in the Open Group category. Other record breakers in the Open category included Cham Yu Xiang, Emir Danish and Jayden Yap Ee Jen who all created a Meet Record each.

Lewis Mu Zi Long from Group 2 created an amazing 3 new Meet Records in addition to his huge haul of 7 Golds and 2 Silvers in his many events while Vitus So Teng Hoe from Group 1 added one more Meet Record along with his 3 Golds to the team tally. Anna Maglai and Li Wanyu (Grace) from Group 3 were the other Record breakers at the Meet for DSA.

The other superstars of the Meet included a young Tee Him from Group 3 who created history by winning an unbelievable 11 Golds, which is actually Golds in all his events. He is definitely Malaysia’s own Mark Spitz in the making and we are going to be hearing a lot about Him soon.

The other top spot takers included Olivia Seow Cui Ying from Group 2 who took home a stupendous 7 Golds and 2 Silvers. Anna Maglai from Group 3 also gave a stellar performance with 7 Golds and 2 Silvers in addition to her Meet Record. Young Yui Hirano in Group 4 is another upcoming champion this year with her spectacular performances across the Meets winning 6 Golds for the team with her awesome finishes.

Cham Yu Xiang, Vitus So Teng Hoe, Darwin Mellissa Nailly, Sean Yep Zhen Him, Alynna Yong Zhang Ya and Keina Kimura from their various groups formed the exclusive collectors of 3 Golds each in their events adding to the heaps of Golds to the team tally.

Other Gold winners included Charlotte Loke, Analey Yap Cai Li and Theadora Raeesa Joseph who added 2 Golds each their winning totals while Emir Danish, Adam Jeffrey Dillon, Jayden Yap Ee Jen, Jerriel Lau, Jacob Tsen Ze Yu, Aylah Wang, Henri James Johan Keeton and Li Wanyu (Grace) added a Gold each to the team tally.

Great finishes by Georgene Wee Ee Jern, Krsna Vyaasana A Saravanan, Ashley Soh Wern Yi, Lai Jun Sheng Julius, Cham Yu Yang, Yap Inn Xuan, Christina Isabelle Fernandiz, Chan Cze Ern, Jiwoo Jung, Noah Abdul Rizal, Matthew Jacob Strydom, Lyona Kimura, Lee Chi Ning, Lee Xin Tung, Grace Ge Zi Xin, Braydon Ang, Skyler Yap Zhe Yu, Tan Yi Wen, Alysha Aryanna Mohd Khairul Azli, Zuhayra Adn B Zulkifli, Violet Tang Zi Qian, Aryan Arjuna Mohd Khairul Azli and Yuan Zhijie ensured a place on the podium for their efforts.

In the Relay events, the Gold winners included Group 2 Girls with 2 Golds, Group 3 Boys, Group 3 Girls and Group 4 Girls winning a Gold each for their teams while other teams collected Silvers and Bronzes for the great performances.
