The SportExcel / MILO / NSC / MAS Junior Swimming Circuit, 1st Leg 2024 was held at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan on 01-03 March 2024 with a whole lot of swimming clubs from Malaysia heading to Shah Alam’s pool. This was the first time this Meet was held with the full set of events for all Age Groups. Another characteristic of this year’s Meet was that foreign swimmers were allowed to participate in this Meet, accumulate points to their team towards the Grand Final but not eligible to win any medals.
DSA Swimming Club had a strong team of 195 swimmers who gave it their all and showed their resilience as the Meet stretched on into the night time, due to the large number of events. The team brought home 28 Golds and over 50 medals in total through the 3 days of intense competition and rivalry.
The star swimmers for DSA included Evan Chua Min Hao who topped the charts with an astounding 7 Golds and a Silver in the Boys 14-15 years age group. Olivia Seow Cui Ying in the Girls 12-13 years age group also collected an equal number of Golds while compatriot Evita Tan Ee Lin added 5 more Golds to the team in the same group. DSA girls certainly showed their women power as they added more medals to their credit than the boys continuing the trend from last year’s Meet. 2 Golds each were added on by Joelle Koo Yu Qing, Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi and Yean Yu Ng to the team tally in their respective age group events while Analey Yap Cai Li, Vitus So Teng Hoe and Yu Xiang Cham gained a Gold each for the team in their events.
Other podium finishers from DSA Swimming Club were Ashley Soh Wern Yi, Henri James Johan Keeton, Charmaine Hung Yun Wen, Ethan Yap You Quan, Heidi Lim Pei Xin, Jaden Ong Jun Xian, Ke Hui Yap, Neelkantha, Ryan Ee Tian Aymes, Sara Sophia Peeters and Sebastien Rion Azlir. A detailed view of the full results and medals tally can be downloaded from the links below.
Along with the medal winners, a sizable number of swimmers placed among the top 24, contributing to the overall total. The swimmers must maintain their momentum and positive attitude as they get ready for the second part of the swimming circuit, and also the Grand Final much later in the year. Many thanks to the parents and swimmers for their commitment to the training, as well as to the DSA coaches who have been pushing the young swimmers to reach their full potential. Go Team DSA, forward! One team, one dream!
