DSA Swimming Club finish as First Runner Up in Bukit Jalil
The 1st MILO/Malaysia Short Course Swimming Championships 2024 was held at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil between the 4th to 7th July. The Championships was a Qualifying Meet for the 6th Asian Indoor and martial Art Games 2024 and any other international competitions.
The Meet was open to both Malaysian swimmers and international swimmers living in Malaysia or outside. Sports Schools were also eligible to participate subject to the swimmer eligibility as prescribed. The Meet was conducted in the World Aquatics Short-Course Metres (SCM) format.
A total of 26 swimming clubs and 319 swimmers from all over Malaysia participated in the Meet. DSA Swimming Club had 40 swimmers while DSAS Swimming Club had 37 swimmers in the fray for the exciting short course clash of the champions.
At the end of the four-day Meet of thrilling action, DSA Swimming Club claimed the First Runner Up position while DSAS Swimming Club stood at the fourth place. DSA swimmers smashed through the competition establishing no less than 10 National Records. DSA Champion swimmer Chong Xin Lin established 4 National Records in her events while Jayden Tan Khai Xin created 2 new National Records and Megan Ho added one more in their events and Golds for DSA Swimming Club. Phee Jinq En broke 4 National Records in her events while winning for DSAS Swimming Club.
DSA Swimmers also won the prestigious awards of the Most Valuable Male Swimmer (Open) going to Jayden Tan Khai Xin and Most Valuable Female Swimmer (Open) going to Phee Jinq En. The Most Valuable Female Swimmer (18 years & under) was awarded to Chong Xin Lin.
The top performers for DSA Swimming Clubs also included Lim Shun Qi and Hii Puong Wei who won Golds in their events while Cham Yu Xiang, Evan Chua Min Hao, Koh Teck Chen and Welson Sim Wee Sheng were all podium finishers in their respective events and adding medals to their team tally.
