One Team, One Dream – United we stand

DSA Swimming Club stands tall at unusual President Cup Meet

39th National Inter-Club Swimming Championships 2022 for the President Cup

The 39th National Inter-Club Swimming Championships for the President Cup 2022 was held during the first weekend of December. The location was Pusat Akuatik Tuan Zara, Perak Darul Ridzuan at Ipoh in the state of Perak.

A HUGE ‘Well done!’  goes out to the DSA Swim Team for their exemplary performance in the Meet.  We are proud of you, and as a team, you are the True Champions of the 39th National Inter-Club Swimming Championships for the President Cup Meet without a doubt.

This year, the Meet being held after a post-pandemic gap of 2 years proved to be unusual in terms of the crowning to the Overall Champion Club, which is based on the total points earned. DSA Swimming Club’s points were forfeited to remain united as a single Club team. The final results of the team were hence shown without any points.

For the record, DSA Swimming Club’s accumulated total points for the Meet, as shown in the image below, stood at 833.5, which is a truly remarkable feat! It is a proud moment for the entire team of swimmers, coaches, parents and well-wishers who came together for this path breaking performance.

Scintillating performance by Evan Chua Min Hao earned him 3 Golds in the Boys 11-12 yrs category events and a similar show by Cham Yu Xiang added 2 Golds to the team total. Other Gold winners included Masato Mark Fujimoto, Olivia Seow Cui Ying, Heidi Lim Pei Xin, Dimas Ardhana Rumawas, Jaden Ong Jun Xian and John Lau Jin Kiat in their respective categories and events.

Other podium finishers included Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi, Xin Qi, Vitus So Teng Hoe, Mellissa Nailly Darwin, Sebastien Rion Azlir, Alma Louise Bendix Dhal, Adam Jeffrey Dillon, Ong Zhi Kheam, Joelle Koo Yu Qing, Ng Ze Heng, Ryan Ee Tian Aymes and Ng Yean Yu. In addition to these, both the Boys and the Girls Relay teams brought back Golds in a remarkable display of team spirit and competitive excellence. A detailed view of the medal tally and the team positions can be downloaded from the links below.

Bringing back the Overall Championships in the majority of the total Meets for the year (8 ‘Overall Champions’ out of the 11 Swim Meets in 2022) is nothing short of a firm mark for DSA as the Top Swimming Club in the country. Such a wonderful performance never comes easy and it is the unrelenting dedication and steady guidance of the DSA Swim coaches that have been the foundation and end-result. A hearty congratulations also to the young swimmers who, despite the break in the schedules and training due to the pandemic, have been giving out their best. The steadfast support of the DSA parents, families and well-wishers are also the strength behind the Club over the years.

As we step away from the heat of the competitions for a short period of rest and relaxation, we look forward to the year ahead. Each achievement is from your own hard work and dedication, and no one can take that away from you. DSA swimmers, coaches, and parents are united as one. We swim together, train together, compete together and work together. There’s one & only one DSA.

Thank you and be proud of yourself!

Onward Team DSA, One Team, One Dream. Wishing you all the very best for 2023!!!
