Swimming Clubs finish as Runner-Ups at the SportExcel Grand Final 2025

The SportExcel/MILO/NSC/MAS Swimming Circuit – Grand Final 2025 took place from November 7 to 9 at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil. This three-day championship marked the culmination of the three-leg series for young swimmers and saw participation of over 700 swimmers from 63 swimming clubs across Malaysia. As always, the Grand Final was a celebration of skill, dedication, and sportsmanship, with swimmers from various age categories competing passionately for top honours.

A total of 154 swimmers from DSA, DSAS, DSAJ and DSAP Swimming Clubs qualified for the Grand Final based on their outstanding performances in the earlier two legs of the Circuit. After three days of intense competition, DSA Swimming Club emerged as the Runner-Up and DSAS Swimming Club followed as the Second Runner Up, securing 62 medals in total, including 23 Golds, along with two new Meet Records set by the Clubs talented young athletes.

The scintillating performances also resulted in many individual awards for the swimmers which included the following:

  • Group 4 Best Girls Award – Keira Lee Shwen (3rd Place)
  • Group 4 Best Boys Award – Owen Chan Kai Wen (2nd Place)
  • Group 2 Best Girls Award – Olivia Seow Cui Ying (2nd Place)
  • Group 2 Best Girls Award – Annabelle Kong Shu Li (3rd Place)
  • Group 1 Best Boys Award – Vitus So Teng Hoe (3rd Place)
  • Group Open Best Girls Award – Jerriel Lau (1st Place)
  • Group Open Best Boys Award – Joseph Chan Kai Xiang (3rd Place)

 

The stars of the Meet included Joseph Chan Kai Xiang in the Open category who created a new Meet record in the 50 Meter Breaststroke in addition to his haul of 3 Golds while Max Lim Jia Jun from Group 2 also created a new Meet record in the same event.

The other Gold winning performances were Jerriel Lau with 2 Golds and Cham Yu Xiang with one Gold in the Open Swimmers category while Vitus So Teng Hoe took home a blazing 3 Gold haul in his events in Group 1 along with Ryan Ee Tian Aymes who also won a Gold for the team in the same Group.

In Group 2 category, Anabelle Kong Shu Li and Olivia Seow Cui Ying led from the top with an amazing 3 Golds haul each while Yap Ke Hui and Evita Tan Ee Lin added a Gold each to the team win. Owen Chan Kai Wen from Group 4 was the other big 3 Gold winner while Alynna Yong Zhang Ya from Group 3 took home a double with 2 Golds for her events.

The other swimmers who did brilliantly in their events making it to a podium finish included Angus Lim, Loo Jhe Yee, Mellissa Nailly Darwin, Kang Zhen Tai, Cham Yu Yang, Lee E-An, Liew Yu Shan, Muhamad Akash Rifqi, Tai Sze Wei, Keira Lee Shwen, Alysha Aryana Mohd Khairul Azli, Henri James Johan Keeton and Zuhayra Adn Zulkifli, all making the Meet a great win for the team.
