DSA Swim Team swimmers make mark at Malaysia Open Meet

In a fabulous display of swimming prowess, DSA Swim Team Swimmer qualified for the SEA Games (Category B) clocking 1.51:42 in the 200m Freestyle prelims at the 64th Malaysia Open Swimming Championship. He then went on to better his timing in the final with 1.50:07 and finishing in second place.

The 64th Malaysia Open Swimming Championship is being held at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil between 3-6 March 2022. The Meet serves as the qualifying Meet to the 31st South East Asian Games (SEA Games) 2022 in Vietnam and the 19th FINA World Championships 2022 in Fukuoka, Japan.

DSA congratulates Welson Sim for his tremendous performance and wish him the best for the SEA Games.

51 swimmers from DSA Swim Team representing KL, Selangor, Terengganu and Sarawak also participated at the Meet. Outstanding performers included Chong Xin Lin with 3 Golds, Jerriel Lau and Yap Inn She with 2 Silvers, Georgene Wee Ee Jern with 1 Silver and Elsa Eow Yeng Yii and Anne Cecilie Nygaard with 2 Bronzes each.
