The purpose of the Novice Meets is to provide beginning swimmers a chance to experience competition and to boost their self-confidence so they may take part in swimming competitions. Those who have never competed at the national level for their state or won any individual meals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets are considered novice swimmers. The 8th Novice Swim Meet was held at the Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on the 02-03 December 2023.
Spectacular performances by the young first-timers from DSA was a delight to watch as they gave it their all. Topping the charts was the young Zhang He Ning who brilliantly lit up the pool to bring home a whopping 7 Golds in the Girls 6 years and under category. Janelle Choo, Syahin Adham Bin Muhd Saiful Aminudin, Ethan Chee Wei Jin and Wen Wen Xin added more Golds to the team tally with their top notch finishes in the pool.
Other young greats who stepped on the podium included Kaira Reyes Lau, Aiman Moosa Rasheed, Nur Aryssa Hanna Abdul Aziz, Jamie Chee Zhia Xin, Ruelle Tan Ru Zac, Natalie Rae Chiew Zhen Ee, Chan Jun Lam and Claire Chen who were delighted with their collection of Silvers and Bronzes.
