The 12th Novice Swim Meet, the first for the year 2025 was held at the Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on the 15th and 16th February. The Novice Meets aim to give beginner swimmers a chance to compete and build self-confidence, encouraging their participation in future swimming competitions. Novice swimmers are defined as those who have never competed at the national level for their state or won individual medals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets.
DSA Swimming Club has a large group of 98 young swimmers participating in the Meet and after two days of tightly contested events, the swimmers brought home a total of 65 medals which included 19 Golds. Ong Zi Yi blazed her way among the senior swimmers with an astounding 8 Golds in her events. Haziq Rizqi in the Boys 11-year old Group was another big winner with 3 Golds while Mia Lim Jia Yen added 2 Golds in her Group. The other Gold winners included Maha Goodings, Rafael Matthew Seah, Damien Cheong Min Zhe, Victoria Tan Jun-Lin, Raeka Mary Seah and Hong Zixin (Ella) who all added a Gold each to the team tally.
Other podium finishers in the team included Ashlee Ramesh, Marisa Lim Yi Ting, Aryan Caleb Nair, Cayden Loo Kai Yin, Zhang Puo Ng, Alfian Hairi, Ng Shan Min, Syazlin Naquiyah Shahasir, Mia Larissa Mohamad, Shu Jing Chen, Nik Nameera Nadine Nik Mohd, and Chan Zhi Ern.
