Young Swimmers shine at 14th Novice Meet with 11 Gold Medals


14th Novice Meet-2025

The 14th Novice Swim Meet, the third of the 2025 season, took place on July 26–27 at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam. These Novice Meets are designed to give beginner swimmers an opportunity to experience competitive swimming, build confidence, and prepare for higher-level competitions. Participants are classified as novice swimmers if they have never competed at the national level for their state or won individual medals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets.

DSA Swimming Club proudly fielded a strong team of 89 young swimmers, many of whom were experiencing competitive swimming for the first time. For these budding athletes, the meet offered invaluable exposure to the structured schedules, discipline, and environment of inter-club competitions.

After two days of spirited competition, the team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 47 medals, including 11 Golds. Among the standout performers was Kayden Chan Kai De, who dominated the Boys 9-year-old category with five Gold medals. In the Girls 7-year-old group, Amelda Wong Zi Qian impressed with four Golds, while the youngest gold medalist, Ariana Tay Yu Qiao, claimed one Gold along with multiple silver and bronze finishes in the Girls 6-and-under category. Nik Nameera Nadine Nik Mohd added another Gold in the Girls 10-year-old category.

Several other swimmers contributed to the medal haul, including Adrian Daniel Ahmad Faizal, Aisha Amir Fazly, Tun Nurdiyana Hadijah, Zhu Yin Lai, Yam Ee Ren, Daniel Kim Dong Hyeon, Muhammad Adam Zharif Shahizan, Ho Joe Yee, Ng Zhang Puo, Azmi Rahimi Azrul Hafiz, and Lee Zhi Xuan.
