DSA Swimming Club creates 2 Meet Records at Bukit Jalil
A team of 285 swimmers from DSA and DSAS Swimming Clubs participated in the MAS/NSC/MILO Junior Splash Swim Meet Leg 1 held between 03-05 June at the National Aquatic Centre. A majority of the swimmers from both the clubs were not the first-tier swimmers but mainly junior competitive swimmers. This was the first big exposure for them, and they gave a sparkling performance.
DSAS Swimming Club emerged second runner-up while DSA Swimming Club finished as fourth in the Meet. A spectacular performance by Sebastien Rion Azlir ensured that he was in the Record books for the 50 Meter Backstroke and Freestyle event in the Boys 13-14 years category. Gold medal winners included Kaylee Koh Lee Shen who won an astounding 3 Golds, Kaylee Wong and Finlay Palmer Kay who garnered 2 Golds each while Jiang Bo Xiu and Yap Ke Hui took home one Gold each. Other podium finishers included Anna Maglai, Noma Horiuchi, Henri James Johan Keeton, Pok Sin Yee, Evita Tan Ee Lin, Kota Kobayashi, Josette Ewe Xin Yue and Evan Chua Min Hao. The Relays also saw outstanding display of teamwork and competitive spirit with DSA winning 6 Golds and 22 other podium finishes with Silvers and Bronzes.
A big round of applause goes to these young junior swimmers who put up such a superb performance and it is definitely something to be very proud of. Congratulations also to each and every parent of the Clubs and the team Coaches who have been striving hard in guiding these youngsters in their performance.
