DSA Swimmers register big win at Shah Alam Championships
The 9th Selangor Short Course Sprint Invitational Swimming Championships was held on 25-27 November at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam. The young swimmers from both DSA Swimming Clubs (DSA & DSAS) gave a sterling performance taking top spots in both the State Swimmers and Novice Swimmers Divisions.
Top performers in the State Division included Evan Chua Min Hao who won Golds in 10 events with 2 new Meet Records in the Boys 11-12 yrs age group. Jaden Ong Jun Xian and Adam Jeffrey Dillon won 2 Golds each in their events. Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi and Joelle Koo Yu Qing also won Golds in their events. Other podium finishers included Xin Qi, Ng Ze Heng, Ryan Ee Tian Aymes, Yoong Chang Shen, Sebastien Rion Azlir, Teh Tze Lin, Charmaine Hung Yun Wen and Cham Yu Xiang who added a host of Silvers and Bronzes to the team total. Swimmers of Group 2, 3, and 4 were given ribbons for the podium finishes.
In the Novice Swimmers Division, Joanne Lew Zi Yan won 4 Golds, Aiden Tan Yong Jia won 3 Golds while Ng Wen Hann and Asheque Ullah Anwar won 2 Golds each in their events. Pok Sin Yee, Danish Haiqal Ahmad Firdaus and Ethan Chua Min Han added 1 more Gold each to the total. Lim Chee Wai, Ashton Cayven Choo, Sara Sophia Peeters, Jayden Yap Ee Jen, Emir Danish, Shawn Pan Xiao Song and Farah Niza Razali were the other medal winners who totally added a large number of Silvers and Bronzes to the DSA Team Tally.
DSA Swimmers also rallied well in the Relay events created 2 New Meet Records and a host of podium finishes across all the age groups. It was a great result for the Clubs as the last Meet in the swimming calendar for the year before the grand finale of The President Cup which closes the calendar. DSA Swimmers conquer the distance at Bukit Jalil
Records galore as DSA wins Overall Championship at Mid & Long Distance Meet
109 young swimmers of the DSA Swimming Club made sure that the team’s unbeaten streak over the Meets this year remained intact as the Club came out as the Overall Champions. The 5th MAS/NSC Mid & Long Distance Swimming Championship held at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil was held on 08-10 October 2022. The Meet was held after a gap of 2 years and DSA Swim Club grabbed the top spot of Overall Champions, moving up from the Runner Up position in 2019.
Going in with the biggest contingent of the Meet and a blazing track record this year, the swimmers were not perturbed with the high expectations of the team. A whopping, incredible 18 new Meet Records and 49 Golds and a host of Silvers and Bronzes ensured the Club was well above the rest of the field with 994.50 points on the board.
The whole team of young swimmers were par excellence in the display of competitive swimming and the trailblazers included Jerriel Lau who made 4 new Meet records in the Girls 18-25 yrs category. Jayden Tan Khai Xin made 2 new Meet records in the Boys 15-17 yrs category. Gabriel Francis McCartan, Yap Yong Jie, Atticus Ng E Hin, Hayley Ng E Mun, Teh Tze Lin, Megan Wong, Lee Tze-Le, Hayley Cassandra Yap Hay Ee, Ashley Soh Wern Yi, Celyn Pan Xiao Ying, Heidi Chong Zi Xin and Vitus So Teng Hoe each created a new Meet record in their events.
Hayley Ng E Mun with 6 Golds, Masato Mark Fujimoto with 4 Golds, Jayden Tan Khai Xin, Teh Tze Lin and Vitus So Teng Hoe with 3 Golds each; Gabriel Francis McCartan, Yap Yong Jie, Megan Wong, Evan Chua Min Hao, Xin Qi, Lewis Mu Zi Long and Evita Tan Ee Lin with 2 Golds each in their events inclusive of the Relays added a big number of Golds to the team total.
The other Gold winners were Yap Shi Chi, Adam Jeffrey Dillon, Joanne Lew Zi Yan, Atticus Ng E Hin, Lee Tze-Le, Yii Shyun Tiing, Dimas Ardhan Rumawas, Neelkantha Arjoo Segar, Angel Zhou, Megan Ho, Jiang Bo Xiu, Miles Nathaneal Yap and Analey Yap Cai Li who won a Gold each inclusive of their Relays. The medal winners also included Cham Yu Xiang, Jayden Yap Ee Jen, Yoong Chang Shen, Jason Loh Jia Sheng, Emir Danish, Shawn Pan Xiao Song, Hayley Cassandra Yap Hay Ee, Ashley Soh Wern Yi, Celyn Pan Xiao Ying, Heidi Chong Zi Xin, Kaylee Wong, Kaylee Koh Lee Shen, Anna Zhou, Heidi Lim Pei Xin and Nik Naazneen Mirza Mohd Rosli who took home Silvers and Bronzes.

With this magnificent team performance, DSA Swim Club has been having a dream run at this year’s swimming calendar, and it’s a very big thanks and round of applause to all those who have been instrumental in making this happen. The DSA team of coaches and parents and most of all the young swimmers have been giving their utmost effort and dedication and living up to the motto of One Team, One Dream.
Sport Excel–Milo NSC-ASUM Junior Swimming Circuit 2014 Grand Final
Venue: Komplex Renang Kuala Lumpur, Cheras

It was a warm sunny day that greeted the thirteen swimmers from DSA Swim Team who had the privilege of being among the top 24 finalists for the Sport Excel-Milo NSC-ASUM Junior Swimming Circuit 2014 Grand Final. The team was accompanied by Head Coach, Daniel Lim, Coach Gerad Goh and the great company of doting parents and well-wishers.
Though our team was small as compared to the previous years, they performed well obtaining a team total of 44 points and won 9 medals. Ten of the swimmers qualified for the finals held during the post lunch sessions on both days.

The other swimmers for the team were Georgene Wee, Chong Hey Sheen, Alyssa Yong, Lim Shun Qi, Chong Kar Hian, Lim Ziwin, Wong Weng Xuan, Wong Yu Hao, Evon Chan, Tan Kai En and Branson Wee.
Christy is continuing her tremendous form and her wins were impressive especially in 100m backstroke, beating the second place by nearly 5 seconds. Sean is also developing his performance substantially. He was looking very strong in his favourite event the 100m breaststroke, beating the second place by over 2 seconds. The team is now preparing well for the oncoming President’s Cup coming up in the month of November. The training schedule is now held on weekends also during the morning hours and we are sure the hard efforts of team coaches will bear great results at the meet.
