21 NEW Records and 55 Gold give DSA historic massive win


DSA Swim team makes an incredible 132 medals haul at MILO/PRAKL Age Group 2017

Records galore at Komplex Renang, Bandur Tun Razak as DSA Swimmers made an astounding collection at the 3 day Swimming Championship making it an awesome start for 2017 for the team. With a team of more than 130 swimmers all geared up after some dedicated training, DSA inched closer to the top slot, winning  55 Gold medals, just 3 short of the top. More remarkable was the amazing amount of record breakers, 21 new records, the maximum by any team in the Meet.

The record breakers included Misa Okuzono who not only won Gold in all her events, all 10 of them, but made a new record in each of them as well! We are sure Misa is going to be one big name in international swimming in the coming years for sure. Darren Lew Chen Jet made the team richer with 9 Gold with 2 new records while Yumi Okuzono added 8 more Gold in her events with 2 new records. Yap Yong Jie added to the record haul with 7 Gold and 6 of them in record time. The Girls 13-14 years group Medley Relay team added one more record in their Gold winning performance bringing the total number of new records by DSA Swimming Team to 21. The host of Gold medal winners included Wesley Kam Zhuo Wei with 4 Gold, Koh Teck Chen, Lee Jia Jing, Georgene Wee Ee Jern and Eunice Wong Ee Yin with 2 Gold each. Chan Evon and Wong Yu Xuan added a Gold each to the team tally.

Other medal winners included Sean Goh Min Chang, Tan Rupert, Wong Yu Hao, Tan E-Shawn, Ng Jia Yi, Cynthia Khor Wen Qi, Chung Ze Xuan, Lim Shun Hern, Asley Chow, Chong Kar Hian, Lim Shun Yuan, Teow Jing Yang Jeremy, Zachary Chin Zi Yong, Chan Ying Yi, Nur Afiqah Mohd Shahrill, Lana Malika Hussayni, Aw Jian Ting, Chong Hiong Kiet, Cheong Hoe Hann, Dian Isandra Johan, Lee Sam Yee, Lean Yiyi and Eunice Wong Ee Yin. Download the detailed Medals Tally from the links below.

A significant amount of the swimmers came home with resounding victories, both in medals and points, a result of the efforts and dedication to training by the swimmers DSA coaches and support by the parents.
