Young Swimmers break through to win Overall Championship at Grand Final

Celebrations galore for DSA Swimming Club as they triumphantly brought home their second Championship for the year, winning Top Spot at the Sportexcel Milo/NSC/Asum Junior Swimming Grand Final 2019. Coming into the Meet with the maximum number of qualifiers from the 2 Legs, DSA Swimming Club had all guns blazing from the word go, retaining their lead till the end.   The final tally had 11 Golds and 1 Meet record along with Silvers and Bronzes beating the next best team by over 100 points.

Yap Yong Jie was the Overall Champion in the Boys Group 3 (11-12yrs) with a Meet Record 3 Golds, 1 Silver and 2 Bronzes. Elise Wong Ving Yan won Group 2  (13-14yr) Girls Overall Champion with 4 Golds.  Chong Hiong Kiet also in Boys Group 3 won another 2 Golds in his events, while Chong Xin Lin collected 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bornze in the Girls Group 3. Liew Xiao Rou also in Girls Group 3 added a Gold and 2 Bronzes to the tally.

Other medal winners included Darren Lew Chen Jet with 2 Silvers 1 Bronze, Sebastien  Rion Azlir with 2 Silvers, Ng Yean Yu 1 Silver 1 Bronze, Eunice Wong Ee Yin and Lew Zhi Tong with 1 Silver each. Mellissa Nailly Darwin, Jaydrien Ng Shen Khang, Cham Yu Xiang and Shermann Choong Li Sheng all added Bronzes to the Team wins.

Apart from the podium finishes, DSA Swim Club also had a host of points contributed by swimmers whose valuable efforts made the Championship possible. These include Joelle Koo Yu Qing, Lee Zi Xuan, Annis Hiew Xin Ting, Arniesh Chai Sasheedran, Elizabeth Chan Yiwen, Yoong Chang Lin, Ean Chin Tyan Feng, Liew Ze Hou, Alvina Ching Ru En, Hayley Yap Hay Ee, Samantha Yong Scanlan, Lee Tze-Le, Cheong Hoe Hann and Wong Yu Xuan. After 2 days of hectic action, it was a resounding victory for DSA Swimming Club as they held aloft the Overall Championship Trophy for the Sportexcel Milo/Nsc/Asum Junior Swimming Circuit for the first time at the Kompleks Renang Kuala Lumpur, Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.

A huge morale boosting victory for the Club after the stupendous win clinching the Overall Championship at the MILO/PRAKL Age Group 2019 at the start of the year. This will do in good stead for the Club as the latter half of the swimming calendar comes up with the all important Meet of the year, the President Cup scheduled in late November.
