SPORTEXCEL/MILO/NSC/ASUM Junior Swimming Circuit-2nd Leg 2016: Report

Over 900 swimmers participated in the Sport Excel Junior Swimming Circuit, Leg 2 held at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam. This was the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the Grand Finals and the weather on both days was slightly sunny and warm, ideal conditions for a good performance by all swimmers.

DSA Swimming Club placed 3rd overall with 712 points. The young swimmers had a chip on our shoulders to improve on their 7th place finish at the Sport Excel Junior Swimming Circuit, Leg 1 and improve they did!

A Gold for the team came from a resurging Sean Goh Min Chang in the 100m Breastroke, closely followed by a Silver medal swim by Lee Jia Jing to cap off a 1-2 finish for DSA Swimming Club in the event. Sean Goh added more to his tally with the 50m Breastroke (Silver) and the 100m Freestyle (Bronze). Medal Winners also included Darren Lew (2 Silvers and 1 Bronze), Georgene Wee Ee Jern (1 Silver and 2 Bronze), and Wong Yu Xuan (Silver).

There was a further upwelling in the Group 2 age group as Wong Yu Hao (50 Freestyle), Tan E-Shawn (50 Breastroke), Koh Teck Chen (100 Butterfly) and Chan Evon (50 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle) won Bronze in their respective events. These results could most likely be attributed to the change in dry land training by our dedicated coaches along with the continual commitment and efforts of the swimmers.

It was a positive outing for all DSA Swimmers, and now the swimmers are eagerly waiting for the Grand Finals coming up in around 60 days.
