Swimming Club make huge haul at SportExcel Circuit Leg 1 Meet

The SportExcel / Milo / NSC / MAS Swimming Circuit is designed to offer additional competitive opportunities to nurture and develop swimming talent across Malaysia, with the goal of achieving success at both national and international levels. Participation in the SportExcel Circuit is limited to swimmers whose personal best times meet or exceed the Minimum Time Standards set for each event.

The Circuit comprises two preliminary legs conducted simultaneously across three regions—Central, Northern, and East Malaysia—followed by a Grand Final. The Northern Region consisted of Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang. The Central Region included Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and East Malaysia covered Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan areas.

As with the previous year, only Malaysian swimmers are eligible to receive medals and podium incentives for the Top 3 placements. Foreign swimmers may participate and earn points to qualify for the Grand Final, but are not eligible for podium rewards.

DSA, DSAS and DSAJ Swimming Clubs participated in the Meet for the Central Region which was held at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on the 16th-18th of May. The combined swimmers from DSA stood at 209 and after 3 days of intense competitive swimming, the swimmers brought home a total of 134 medals which included 50 Golds, besides having created a breath-taking 7 Meet Records.

The trail blazing record breakers included Cham Yu Xiang who won 4 Golds with 3 Meet Records and Wong Shi Qi with 2 Golds and 2 Meet Records, both of whom were in the Open Swimmers category. Olivia Seow Cui Ying who won 2 Golds created a new Record in Group 2 category while Kayler Ngan Kang Yi with 3 Golds was the other record breaker in the Group 3 category.

Other stars who contributed to the huge 50 Golds collection included Noah Abdul Rizal in Group 3 with a staggering 7 Golds in his events, Keira Lee Shwen in Group 4 with 6 Golds, Anabelle Kong Shu Li in Group 2 also with 6 Golds, Evan Chua Min Hao in Group 1 with 4 Golds, Evita Tan Ee Lin from Group 2 and Alysha Aryana Mohd Khairul in Group 4 with 3 Golds each. Besides these Ethan Chua Min Han, Aydan Chew Hwe Zhe, Bo Yu Hew, Lee E-An, Ong Zhi Kheam, Lee Chi Ning, Zhi Ju Ho, Liew Yu Shan and Owen Chan Kai Wen all added a Gold each to the team tally.

Other podium finishers with their excellent performances included Joseph Chan Kai Xiang, Cham Yu Yang, Ethan Eng Yeung Zjung, Jamie Chee Zhia Xin, Isaac Chen Yen-Bo, Muhamad Akash Rifqi, Jamie Koh Jun Ming, Clifford Yeap Shun Long, Isaac Lee Ming, Wah Hao Ran, Foo Qi Wei, Raeka Ong, Alynna Yong Zhang Ya, Natalie Rae Chiew Zhen Ee, Sasha Caunter Chin Liyen, Daniella Lian Yue Yan, Lee Xin Tung, Henri James Johan Keeton, Zuhayra Adn Zulkifli, Cassandra Wong Zi En and Lisa Katherina Siemers. Medals for DSA Penang at Ipoh Meet

DSA Swimming Club also participated in the Meet for the Northern Region which was held at Pusat Akuatik Tuanku Zara, Ipoh, Perak on the 16th-18th of May. 13 swimmers from DSA Penang participated in the Meet which is the first time for all of them to participate in a national level inter-club Meet. The swimmers brought home 11 medals which included 1 Gold won by Ronan Cheong Hao Jin from Group 1. Other medal winners included Hoo Jean Yee, Gareth Goh and Goh Hao Wei. Young swimmers finish second Novice Meet of the year with 15 Golds


13th Novice Swim Meet 2025

The 13th Novice Swim Meet, being the second for the year 2025 was held at the Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on the 3rd and 4th of May. The Novice Meets aim to give beginner swimmers a chance to compete and build self-confidence, encouraging their participation in future swimming competitions. Novice swimmers are defined as those who have never competed at the national level for their state or won individual medals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets.

DSA Swimming Club participated in the Meet with a large group of 118 swimmers, most of whom were freshly trying out their competitive swimming skills. It is a great experience for these youngsters to participate in these Meets and get a feel of the tight schedules, arrangements and the discipline needed to be a part of these inter Club Meets.

After two days of tightly contested events, the swimmers brought home a total of 55 medals which included 15 Golds. The big winners of the Meet included Olyvia Magdalene Foley who was a champ in the 14 years old Girls group blazing her way to a spectacular 8 Gold haul, a Gold in every event she participated in. This teenager will be a name to reckon with in the future for sure.  Another superstar at the Meet was little Kayden Chan Kai De in the Boys 9 years old group who impressed everyone with a 4 Gold haul to take home. Other Gold winners included Rafeal Matthew Seah, Raeka Mary Seah and Danielle Rae Chiew Wern Ee.

Other podium finishers in the team included Koh Tzi Kai, Ahmad Halfy, Syazlin Naquiyah Shahasir, Victoria Jun-Lin Tan, Caleb Chong Ze Min, Yam Ee Ren, Nik Nameera Nadine Nik Mohd, Ashley Huang and Aryan Arjuna Mohd Khairul Azli. DSA Swimmers win 11 Golds at Open Meet


MOSC2025

The 67th MILO/MAS Malaysia Open Swimming Championships 2025 was held on 24-27 April at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil. The Meet served as the Qualifying Event for the World Aquatics Championships Singapore 2025 and the SEA Games 2025 and other international Meets. Swimmers participating in the Meet representing their Clubs needed to satisfy the minimum time requirements for their events as specified They can represent their respective State or Club with the priority given for the State representation.

A total of 51 swimmers from DSA Swimming Club represented the Club in the Meet while 24 swimmers represented Kuala Lumpur and 13 swimmers represented Selangor. After 3 days of intense competition, DSA Swimmers brought home 30 medals which included 11 Golds and also were part of the State Relay teams that created new Meet Records. Jayden Tan Khai Xin created a new Meet Record in the 400 Metre Individual Medley for Kuala Lumpur while Cham Yu Xiang, Hyeonjoong Kil were part of the Relay teams that created new Meet Records for the state of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur .

Jayden Tan Khai Xin also won 3 Golds for his events which included 2 Relays while Cham Yu Xiang, Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi and Shannon Tan Yan Qing won 2 Golds each. In addition, Chu Xin Ying (Rachel) and Hyeonjoong Kil won a Gold each for their home States of Sabah and Selangor. Other winners in the top three included Annis Hiew Xin Ting, Hii Puong Wei, Phee Jinq En, Joseph Chan Kai Xiang, Megan Ho, Olivia Seow Cui Ying and Wong Shi Qi who all added victories to their credit and made the Meet a great one. DSA Swimmers stars at Bukit Jalil MIAG with 19 Golds


MIAG 2025

The 60th Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships 2025 was held on 20-23 February at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil. Many of DSA’s champion swimmers represented their states at the Meet. Stars of the Meet with the excellent performance included Lewis Mu Zi Long representing Kuala Lumpur winning 4 Golds in his events, Sasha Caunter-Chin Liyen representing Selangor state with 3 Golds and Keira Lee Shwen also from Selangor winning 3 Golds too.

Other Gold winners were Rebecca Lyu ChunYuan, Hyeonjoong Kil, Shazia Aqeela Binti Muhammad Saiful Aminudin, Evan Chua Min Hao and  Shannon Tan Yan Qing, all from Selangor who took home a Gold each along with other Silvers and Bronzes. Jayden Tan Khai Xin, Megan Ho, Noah Abdul Rizal and Yap Yong Jie from Kuala Lumpur and Wong Shi Qi from the state of Pahang who all added a Gold more to their collection of well-deserved wins.

The host of other podium finishing winners included Adam Jeffrey Dillon, Anna Maglai, Aylah Wang, Tan BoYun, Charlotte Loke, Chan Cze Ern, Georgene Wee Ee Jern, Evita Tan Ee Lin,  Henri James Johan Keeton, Jerriel Lau, Max Lim Jia Jun, Boxiu Jiang, Phee Jinq En, Lai Jun Sheng Julius, Yap Ke Hui, Thon Kok Jun, Shermann Choong Li Sheng, Hiew Lik Yang, Neelkantha, Olivia Seow Cui Ying, Hii Puong Wei, Foo Qi Wei, Ryan Ee Tian Aymes, Tai Sze Wei, Theadora Raeesa Joseph, Vitus So Teng Hoe, Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi, Annis Hiew Xin Ting, Lee Xin Tung, Lee Yen Yi, Cham Yu Xiang, Yui Hirano, Averie Lim Zhi En and Ho Zhi Ju who all had a great time enjoying their exemplary performances at this high level Meet. The 12th Novice Swim Meet, the first for the year 2025 was held at the Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on the 15th and 16th February. The Novice Meets aim to give beginner swimmers a chance to compete and build self-confidence, encouraging their participation in future swimming competitions. Novice swimmers are defined as those who have never competed at the national level for their state or won individual medals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets.

DSA Swimming Club has a large group of 98 young swimmers participating in the Meet and after two days of tightly contested events, the swimmers brought home a total of 65 medals which included 19 Golds. Ong Zi Yi blazed her way among the senior swimmers with an astounding 8 Golds in her events. Haziq Rizqi in the Boys 11-year old Group was another big winner with 3 Golds while Mia Lim Jia Yen added 2 Golds in her Group. The other Gold winners included Maha Goodings, Rafael Matthew Seah, Damien Cheong Min Zhe, Victoria Tan Jun-Lin, Raeka Mary Seah and Hong Zixin (Ella) who all added a Gold each to the team tally.
