Our esteemed swimmer, Chong Xin Lin, will soon be bidding farewell to the DSA Swim Team as she embarks on a new chapter in her journey.

We have had the privilege of watching you grow and develop from a young swimmer in the DSA Learn to Swim Program at the age of 7 starting in DSA R1 level, graduating to the DSA Mini Squad, progressing from DSA Squad Group D to A, and ultimately becoming a proud member of the national team.

Your journey with us has been truly inspiring. From your unwavering dedication in training to the countless milestones you’ve achieved, you’ve set a shining example of what hard work, perseverance, and passion can accomplish. Your growth as an athlete has been remarkable, and we are incredibly proud of everything you’ve achieved.

On behalf of everyone at DSA Swim Team, we want to express our deepest gratitude for all your contributions, both in and out of the water. You will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

DSA Swimmers finish First Runner Up at Selangor SC Meet

11th Selangor Short Course 2024

The 11th Selangor Short Course Sprint Invitational Swimming Championships 2024 was held on 08-10 November at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsal in Shah Alam. The Championships are run in the World Aquatics Short-Course Metres (SCM) format and the events will be as Timed Finals of each age group. Both the DSA Swimming Clubs participated in the Meet with a total of 88 young swimmers joining the host of competitors vying for the top spots in the Championship.

DSA Swimming club finished as the First Runner Up of the Meet with a Meet Record in the Boys 11 & Under 4×25 SC Meter Freestyle Relay. The team performance was top-notch concluding the Meet with a total of 82 medals which included 20 Golds, 27 Sliver and 35 Bronzes.

In the State Swimmers Division, DSA’s champion swimmer was little Anna Maglai in the Girls 11 years old age group and under with the maximum points and winning the coveted Most Valuable Swimmer (Girls) Award. She took home an amazing 10 medals which included 1 Gold, 5 Slivers and 4 Bronzes in her events. In the Boys 19 years and over age group, Alexander Quinn C. Angeles took home the honour of the Most Valuable Swimmer (Boys) Award with a total of 4 medals which included 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes.

Other blazing performers among the State Swimmers, included Adam Jeffrey Dillon in the Open category who won an astonishing 4 Golds, while Cham Yu Xiang took home 3 Golds in the Group 1 category. Elsa Eow Yeng Yii, Heidi Lim Pei Xin and Samuel Koek Gelacio also took home a Gold each for their wins in their respective groups. Other podium finishers in the State Swimmers division included Shusuke Kobayashi, Theadora Raeesa Joseph, Aiden Tan Yong Jia, Sara Sophia Peeters, Ng Yean Yu and Hyeonjoong Kil who all added many Silvers and Bronzes to the team tally.

In the Novice Swimmers Division, the top performers included Sean Yep Zhen Him and Javan Pun Jin Wen with 2 Golds and Malika Aminova with 1 Gold in their respective groups. Other podium finishers included Aiden Zarief, Kana Iwasaki, Ibrahim Mukhlis Bin Hadaffi Hanif, ​Lee Nahyun, Loh Eqin and Matthew Jacob Strydom who all brought home much appreciated points to the DSA Team total.

In the Relay events, the Boys in Group 4 (11 years and under) made their marks in the record books with the quartet of Joshua Tan Ker Jin, Lee Kenyi, Samuel Koek Gelacio and Shusuke Kobayashi giving a dazzling performance in the 4×25 SC Meter Relay. DSA had podium finishes in 6 other Relay events through the various groups making it a great performance overall by the swimmers. 14 New Meet Records by DSA Swimmers


Swimming Clubs put on a spectacular display at the SportExcel Grand Final 

SportExcel/MILO/NSC/MAS Swimming Circuit – Grand Final 2024

The SportExcel/MILO/NSC/MAS Swimming Circuit – Grand Final 2024 was held on October 11-13 at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil. The 3-day swimming championship which was the concluding part of 3 Leg series for young swimmers drew participation from over 30 swimming clubs all over Malaysia. As always, the Grand Finale showcased an impressive display of talent, determination, and athleticism, with swimmers from various age groups competing fiercely for the top honours.

A total of 117 talented and enthusiastic swimmers from DSA and DSAS Swimming Clubs were eligible to participate based on their performances in the previous 2 Legs of the Circuit held earlier in the year.

DSA Swimming Club finished as Runner-Ups at this Meet and the total medal count for DSA Clubs stood at 60 which included 19 Golds and the additional win of 14 new Meet Records by the spectacular performance of the swimmers from both clubs.

Among the swimmers who left an impressive mark were Olivia Seow Cui Ying and Vitus So Teng Hoe who was declared Best Boy of the Group 2 Category.  Vitus, in the Boys 14-15 years category, set 4 Meet Records, firmly establishing himself as one of the top young swimmers in the competition. Olivia was equally exceptional, competing in the Girls 12-13 years category, created a staggering 3 Meet Records, demonstrating her dominance in the pool at such a young age.

Additionally, Cham Yu Xiang delivered a stellar performance in the Boys 16-18 years group, where he broke  3 Meet Records in all three Breaststroke events. His technique and speed were unmatched in these categories, cementing his reputation as a force to be reckoned with in breaststroke. Another notable record-breaking performance came from Evan Chua Min Hao, who set a new benchmark in the Boys Individual Medley, Kang Zhen Tai and Ong Zhi Kheam also broke a Meet Record in the Boys Breaststroke rounding off the list of record-breakers in their respective Groups. Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi was another Record breaker in her Freestyle event, bringing the total number of new records to 14 by the DSA swimmers.

Apart from the record-breaking swims, several competitors secured multiple podium finishes. Ashley Soh Wern Yi  was one of the stars with a smashing count of 3 Golds, while Samuel Koek Gelacio, Kaelyn Chee Wei Yi and Charmaine Hung Yun Wen were equally impressive in their respective races with one Gold and multiple other medals each adding to the team tally. Sara Sophia Peeters added one more Gold in the Senior Girls age group with Backstroke win.

The younger age groups also had their share of talent on display with Hew Bo Yu, Evita Tan Ee Lin, Yap Inn Xuan, Muhammad Haziq Hariz Hazli, Joelle Koo Yu Qing, Pok Sin Yee and Yap Ke Hui had podium finishes to their credit.

In the older age group, Ryan Ee Tian Aymes, Ng Yean Yu, Emir Danish, Jayden Yap Ee Jen and Yap Yong Jie stood out for their solid performances in the Boys 16-18 years group, all securing podium finishes. Meanwhile, in the Girls 16-18 years category, Chong En Ci and Jamie Chee Zhia Xin made their mark with Silver wins, while Marcus Chong Yung Fatt brought home a Bronze in the Boys 19-30 years 100 Meter Freestyle event.

DSA’s little swimmers shine at Novice Meet


The 10th Novice Swim Meet 2024 was held at the Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam on the 7th and 8th September. Novice swimmers are those who have never competed at the national level for their state or won individual medals in previous State Age Group Swimming Meets and the Novice Meets aim to give beginner swimmers a chance to compete and build self-confidence.

DSA Swimming Club had 158 young swimmers participating in the Meet, a majority of them in the tender age of 10 years or less. It was a great time for the children having their experience of competitive swimming and everything that it entails.

The little ones who took the top honours at the Meet included Mikhail Tsoy in the Boys 12 years old category who won an amazing 6 Golds in his many events. Natalie Rae Chiew Zhen Ee brought home 3 Golds in the 11 year old Girls category while Zixin(Ella) Hong won 2 Golds in the Girls 9 year old category. Tai Sze Wei and Azmi Rahimi Azrul Hafiz added a Gold each to the team tally in their events. Other podium finishers for DSA Swimming Club included Zhu Yin Lai, Kairen Ham Jun Quan, Kayden Chan Kai De, Kana Iwasaki, Miranda Chiew Han Yin, Mia Lim Jia Yen, Sarah Kwong Xin and Maxwell Owen Tayok who all did their bit to bring the team tally to over 30 medals. Multiple records at SUKMA 2024 by DSA swimmers


17 Golds, 7 Meet Records and 1 National Record at Pandelela Aquatic Centre

The Aquatics (swimming & diving) events of the 2024 SUKMA Games, officially known as the 21st SUKMA Games was held between 17-24 August at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre in Kuching, Sarawak. There were 21 swimmers from DSA who were representing their respective States at the Games for swimming events. After a fabulous display of talent and skill, the DSA swimmers won a total of 17 Golds.

Lim Shun Qi created history by being part of the quartet that created a National Record in the Mixed 4 X 100m Medley Relay event besides also being part of the Women’s 4 X 100m Freestyle Relay quartet which created a new Meet Record for the event. She took home a total of 5 Golds from the National Meet.

DSA Champion and favourite swimmer Chong Xin Lin added 4 more Golds to her state team’s tally while creating 2 Individual Meet Records for the Women’s 50m Backstroke and Women’s 100m Backstroke taking her place as the National Champ of the Backstroke event. She was also part of the Women’s 4 X 100m Medley Relay Team which created a new Meet Record in the event. Charlotte Loke was another member of the quartet for the same event adding her part in the record-breaking performance. Wong Shi Qi and Shannon Tan Yan Qing were the other Gold winners in their events among the Women’s events.

Among the Men’s events, Jayden Tan Khai Xin also created a new Individual Meet Record in the Men’s 400m Individual Medley, while being a part of the record creating quartet for the Men’s 4 X 100m Freestyle event. He also won the Gold for the Men’s 200m Individual Medley. Hii Puong Wei was the other individual Record maker for his dazzling swim in the Men’s 200m Backstroke, while also taking the Gold in the Men’s 100m Backstroke event.

Other podium finishers who were DSA swimmers representing their states included Georgene Wee Ee Jern, Megan Ho Wei Yan, Annis Hiew Xin Ting, Cham Yu Xiang and Joseph Chan Kai Xiang. A detailed view of the medal tally of the swimmers at this National Meet can be downloaded from the links below.
